Backup/Archive options
Due to modern security policies enforced since January 2023 by Microsoft, there is no automatic method to move all of your student email to your new Alumni account.
If you need to save some of your student email, you might consider:
- Forwarding any critical/important emails to your alumni account one at a time. This could be for your most critical messages.
- Try the Drag-and-Drop method
- Create and save an "archive" to your computer using these instructions from Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/back-up-your-email-e5845b0b-1aeb-424f-924c-aa1c33b18833. You can then open that file with your own Microsoft Outlook program after your student account is retired. It may also be possible to import this archive into a different email system.
OneDrive
If you have OneDrive items, move them manually by logging in at https://account.microsoft.com/account/onedrive with your ename@colostate.edu username and your eID password. Then manually download, to your computer, all files and folders that you want to keep. Then you may keep them as-is, or upload them to your @Alumni account's Google Drive folders.
Contacts
If you need these, be sure to download/save them as well: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-contacts-in-outlook-966eb60e-a451-4ade-8025-eead2bfe18ef.
